Community Power Network

The Community Power Network (formerly the Peer Learning Network) is an ongoing multicultural, multiracial forum on the potential for systems alignment initiatives to improve outcomes for Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities. We build community power to uplift lived experience, Indigenous and cultural wisdom, community values and assets, and culture; to conduct research that decolonizes and reimagines “rigor” to evaluate the feasibility and impact of systems alignment innovations; to leverage transdisciplinary expertise and other ways of knowing; and to move evidence into action.

Through our initiatives and Community Power Network, communities are leading research that decolonizes and reimagines community-defined rigor, and evaluating and determining the feasibility and impact of systems alignment innovations. Grounded in lived experience, Indigenous and cultural wisdom, community values, and assets, our work strengthens transdisciplinary expertise and moves evidence into action to drive lasting, equity-centered change. Our partners include Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander community-based organizations, public agencies, academic institutions, movement leaders, and advocacy groups—all committed to dismantling systemic barriers and centering community-generated knowledge in policymaking, research, and practice.

With a geographic reach spanning urban, rural, and tribal communities across multiple states, the SAIH Community Power Network is actively shifting power in regions where health inequities are deep and persistent. From the West Coast to the South, from the Midwest to the Northeast, our partners are reshaping how systems engage with racial and economic justice, ensuring that research is not just about communities, but led by them.
